The "Sino-EU Bio-Natural Gas Summit" took place in Beijing from 3 to 5 November 2016. The event, supported by EUBCE European Biomass Conference and Exhibition, has been organized by ETA Florence Renewable Energies, China University of Petroleum (Beijing), the European Biomass Industry Association and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
The Sino-EU Bio-Natural Gas Summit has represented the first event held in China focused on the development of the bio-natural gas industry and on its international technology exchange. 220 delegates participated in the event, whereas 195 from China. Representatives from governmental institutions, research institutes, universities, international institutions as well as well-known enterprises, investment and financing institutions and industry associations related to the bio-gas industry participated in the event.
The forum was structured along the main Conference, the Technical Sub-forum and the Financial Industrial Sub-forum.
The event focused on the promotion of the development of the industry of the bio-natural gas, on its technical exchange and transfer, economic feasibility and business model exploration, financial capital power as well as on the opportunity for bio-natural gas industry to explore challenges of industrial development.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Prof. Zhou Hongjun, Dean of the New Energy Research Institute of China University of Petroleum (Beijing). The opening speech was delivered by Wu Xiaolin, Vice President of China University of Petroleum (Beijing).
Mr. Wang Jiuchen, Deputy Director General, Rural Energy and Environment Agency, Ministry of Agriculture(MOA) the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Nicolae Scarlat, European Commission, Joint Research Centre, Directorate for Energy, Transport and Climate and EUBCE Technical Programme Chairman and Mr. Kong Yuan, Director, Division of Rural Environment Management, Department of Water Environment Management, Ministry of Environment Protection(MEP) delivered speeches to express the wishes and expectations that this summit could serve as a comprehensive platform for the integration of academic, economic, financial, international exchange and government in the development of the bio-natural gas industry between Europe and China.
The organizers have been very pleased to have succeeded in the making of such an interesting and innovative event and extremely proud of the results accomplished and look forward to the next edition in 2017.
